What is Therapy?

”Through the client and therapist working together, meaningful change can occur.”

Psychotherapy enables a deeper understanding of the concept of self. It aims to bring to awareness unconscious patterns of thinking and behaving, which are affecting a person in their life. It is a therapeutic process which allows you to work on problems affecting your day to day living, such as depression, anxiety, addictions, bereavement, self-esteem problems and so on, as well unpleasant childhood experiences and past traumas.

We experience anxiety, fear, sadness, depression or uncertainty at some point of our lives, these thoughts and feelings can become overwhelming and lead to psychological dysfunction. I believe counselling can help you begin to tolerate, accept, make lasting personal change, giving you a stronger sense of who you are and what you need, it can guide you through some of life’s major transitions.

Whether the obstacle is depression, anxiety, a past or recent traumatic experience, or any other emotional barrier, I believe with the right therapeutic relationship, you can find the right tools to overcome these problems, and take a major step to living a happier and healthier life.

Anyone could benefit from therapy, given the right time and enough effort to make change. Whether it is the first time you are considering counselling or have some experience of therapy in the past, please feel free to contact me for a brief chat on how therapy could help you and your problems.

Taking the initial step can be difficult, but stepping into a therapeutic journey is highly likely to be rewarding at the end.
